With a vibrant energy, she thundered down the stairs, pausing for a final fatherly seal of approval. "Dad, how do I look?" With a reassuring "you look great," she vanished out the door, eager to embrace a stunning spring day and a round of golf with a friend.

No one could have fathomed that would be her last joyful dash down those stairs, her last moment of fatherly fashion endorsement.

In a cruel twist of fate, Morgan's joyous afternoon took a devastating turn. Just a mile and a half from home, a drunk driver, fueled by recklessness and distraction, ended her life in an instant. The vibrant promise of March 5, 2023, shattered into an eternity of sorrow for all who loved her.

Morgan's life, though tragically brief, glowed with a rare intensity. Blessed with a childhood steeped in global adventure, her father's work opened doors to diverse cultures and experiences that shape a person. These formative years instilled in Morgan an unwavering commitment to see the true essence of others and to lift those less fortunate. Morgan knew she was blessed with a loving family, and this fueled her burning desire to share those blessings.

After returning from living overseas and back in Anderson, Morgan's dedication to service only grew. At T.L. Hanna High School, she spearheaded Relay for Life, rallied support for a classmate's cancer battle, and led various initiatives to strengthen her community. Her selflessness and leadership earned her the school's highest honor, the T.L. Hanna Award.

As Morgan began to realize her career goals, Morgan pursued a Real Estate License, just weeks from achieving her goal. Her newfound passion for golf blossomed from working at PGA tournaments like the Wells Fargo Championship and The Ryder Cup. Though an amateur, she reveled in time on the course with friends, always striving to improve. With a smile, she'd say, "I may not be good yet, but I'm trying to get better, and I'll definitely look good doing it!"

After Morgan’s parents received that fateful notification they began their journey into the unchartered waters of the criminal justice system, a system they thought was there to protect and serve, especially victims.

Morgan's story is one of promise cut short, of love, of impact. Though her time was limited, her spirit remains, inspiring us to cherish each day and strive to be a light for others, just as she was.

To honor Morgan's legacy, the Morgan Horne Memorial Fund was established to continue making a tangible difference in the lives of others.  The fund will engage with our community, support those in need, and keep Morgan's love of golf alive. Together, we can turn heartbreak into a lasting impact that would make Morgan proud.
